The Wave Drift Shawl is inspired by surface water on a lake. The textured zigzag pattern represents the ripples or little waves that can ruffle an otherwise smooth lake surface as a gentle breeze blows. The shawl design aims to capture the drift of the waves along with the stillness and serenity of a peaceful lake. The triangular top-down shawl shape adds a directional element to the design. The diagonal lines of textured waves stretch from the outer shawl edges and meet at the shawl centre. The shawl begins with a garter-stitch tab and then grows downwards from the top centre by four stitches being increased on every right-side row. The centre spine and outer edges contain a textured twisted-rope-and-eyelet stitch pattern.

The Wave Drift Shawl - Knitting Pattern
All our yarn is hand dyed in Northern Ireland. As each skein is hand painted there will be variations between each skein even in the same dye batch. It is recommend that when making a larger project you alternate skeins to avoid pooling.
