CARE
All of Irish Artisan's Yarn is hand dyed and unique. There is no need to pre-wash or soak our yarn before you start your project.

Once your hand-dyed wool is knitted, crocheted, or woven into a finished piece, wash/block it carefully.

-
Hand wash only: Never machine wash a finished wool garment unless it specifically says it is machine washable (rare for hand-dyed wool).

-
Use cool water: Wash your hand-dyed wool garment in cool or lukewarm water, as hot water can cause shrinkage or felting.

-
Gentle, wool-specific detergent: Again, use a mild, wool-friendly detergent to avoid stripping the fibers or affecting the dye.
WINDING INTO A BALL
Winding a hand-dyed skein into a ball is an important part of preparing your yarn for knitting, crocheting, or any other project.
There are a lot of videos on YouTube to show how this is done. You can do it by hand or with a swift and ball winder.
